Scholarship description: This award is ideal for someone who knows their education field such as a university student with a strong interest in the arts. The student's main concentration could be the creative arts but doesn't have to be: please read "Additional Notes". As a way to support a community of students who are exploring their potential. 

 

We are pleased to announce a winner has been chosen for The Thomas Gallery Scholarship - 2024. We read 102 applications and reviewed 50 and then awarded one winner. It was very close, it came down to splitting-hairs. So, we wish we could have awarded 5 awards. But in the end, we thought one captured the spirit of exploring one's potential the best. The winner reminded us that art can speak to us in many ways. In her own words, "Seeing this painting, and being able to understand its meaning gave me the courage to reclaim my identity", she eventually came to realize there's a world bigger than herself. Very inspiring. Which offers the question, maybe the meaning of a piece of art is revealed to us when we need it the most? ​
